Snackr: Stylish RSS ticker on your desktop
These days, the internet is one of the popular sources for information and news that people use. The problem is that many people have trouble keeping tabs on their favorite sites. The typical solution to this problem is the use of RSS feeds, but finding the right program that suits your needs may be hard. Well, lucky for you I have a very good one called Snackr, an RSS ticker (scrollboard) that runs in your computer’s desktop. See my Snackr review after the break…

textPlus: Text Messaging for iPod Touch and iPhone
There are some iPod Touch users that want to use their device as their main port of communication, and with many social networking and communication apps available on the App Store, this can become an easy reality. One of these applications, textPlus by GOGII, allows you to send text messages (over WiFi) for free. More on textPlus works and my review after the break…

Prowl: Growl Notifications On Your iPhone
Many Mac users use Growl to get notifications for numerous pieces of software, such as: Skype, Firefox, Cyberduck (file transfer client), some Twitter clients, and more. This is great, but what about if you leave your computer? How can you find out if you missed some Skype calls, or whether you missed any instant messages on Adium? This is where Prowl for the iPod Touch and iPhone comes in.

iCall – Makes calling easy on the iPod Touch
iCall has been around for about half a decade, and has helped over 3 million people make free calls over VoIP to landlines, cell phones, etc. While iCall’s computer software had been exclusive to Windows computers, they recently released a free iPod Touch and iPhone application that enables users to make VoIP calls over WiFi (no calling over 3G due to Apple restrictions). Sounds good, especially for iPod Touch users, but is it too good to be true? More after the break…

Neoprene Sleeve for 13-inch MacBook Review
I recently bought a new 13-inch MacBook Pro with the intention of using it for my last 3 years of high school, and possibly into my first 1-2 years of college. In order to do that, I figured I had to buy a case in order to protect it from damage, specifically scratches, dents, dust, and dirt. I decided to pick the Incase Neoprene sleeve for 13 inch MacBooks in hopes that it would provide the protection that I need.

RemotePad: A free trackpad and for the iPhone
There are many free apps on the iTunes App Store. Lots of them are terrible, but occasionally you will run into a really good one. Well, RemotePad is that “one”, in fact, it may actually be my favorite free iPhone-to-computer application on the App Store. RemotePad allows you to use your iPhone or iPod Touch as a keyboard and trackpad, over a network. Plus it’s open source, meaning you can acquire the source code of the app, and basically help improve and modify the application, if you are into that sorta thing.

Text to Speech: A great proofreading tool
If you are like me, you make common grammar and spelling mistakes in your writing, which sometimes can hinder with the message or story you are trying to get out. Also, most of the time, you miss those mistakes when proofreading. Well, a good tool that I use is my Mac’s “Text to Speech” feature, and I use it to read back what I wrote, and to check if what I wrote made sense. I do this with most of my writing (with the exception of Tweets, Facebook statuses, AIM conversations, etc.), and while it is a little time consuming, it helps me feel more confident and “sure” when publishing, or handing in work.
