Why is Apple letting the competition heat up this summer?

The Key Note Apple hosted before the summer , informed the world of the upcoming lineup Apple had in store, OS X Lion, iOS 5, and iCloud.  However I’m sure every Apple fan noticed they did not announce nor even hint at the possibility of the next generation in the iPhone range to come out soon.

Every year since (except for the iPhone 3g) the iPhone was released Apple have released a newer model on a yearly basis. We all know this is because Apple are a very clever company and deliberately leave out certain features which fans are expecting so that they can release them in the next iPhone, and reap in the profits with their extremely persuasive advertisement campaigns. It makes me wonder why this year has been an exception. Apple are a very tightly lipped company and leaks are never let out, which all adds to the hype apple can build before the release of a product. Which they are so renowned for.

However this hasn’t stopped some of the big boy tech blogs guessing when the next iPhone will be announced. I have read around and a lot say this September we can expect to hear about it’s release date, but of course no one knows and these kind of guesses are merely educated guess’s. A lot of people are reading into this too much. I personally believe there will be no iPhone released until Spring’12. If we take a look at the share price of the company it reached it’s highest point ever on record this July at just over $400 dollars per share. If the share price is still rising why bother releasing a newer version of the biggest selling product they have? There is no reason to, so they will wait until the share price begins to flatten around next Spring. Simply put, people are still buying the iPhone 4 so they will hold onto their most prized possession until it’s needed.

This has made way for the enormous Samsung to make a burst through into the limelight this summer despite the many lawsuits Apple have them involved in. With the release of the hard-ware superior Galaxy S II the iPhone will be relying on the loyal customers and propaganda like advertisements to keep them a float this coming academic year.

I am a new writer for appyourmac, and that’s my two cents!
