Scullcandy: Full Metal Jacket Earphones

Earphones… Or ear-buds. I can never really tell the two apart, or if they are the same thing. I am of course talking about the little things you shove in your ears and think, ‘Surely this must be bad for my ears’. Specially when you have to max out the volume to even have a chance of hearing your music over background noises when you’re out and about. Scullcandy, however, are one of a few companies that know what they are doing when it comes down to music, they have comfortable fit high quality products that you don’t need to max out. If you are still sticking to those flat, tinny sounding things that came with your iPod then You have no idea what you are missing out on!

We all know that earphones haven’t really been ideal, if you are looking to get the music from your music player to your brain with minimal loss of quality though the inevitably ’speaker to ear’ ear junction, then that means the only option is would buy very expensive headphones. Earphones are a step down from that, but with a key feature, portability. Unless, of course, you like lugging your massive, expensive, power draining over head headphones. Which, if worn outside, practical rights the large ‘L’ on your forehead for you.

But you don’t have to sacrifice quality for portability, the world of earphones have moved a long way since the early days. Of course, apple, our favorite company around are still shipping there brand new, top of the line,  ground breaking, amazing products with shallow, tinny and unmistakeably impact less earphones. Some prefer them, if your not one for music quality then maybe you do. What ever makes people want to hear the scratch and reduced quality of records rather than the new age mp3 file I do not know either. But me, and most other people who like high quality, want the best possible quality and I don’t want to have to crank up the volume to hear that quality or pay a ridicules price.

The full metal jacket from Scullcandy tick all the boxes. They are brilliant quality, have noise cancellation, are comfortable and yes. They even work on your iPhone. They have a built in microphone / button for talk, pause, rewind etc. They come with several ear bud attachments to fit your ears comfortably. They even have foam expanding ones to increase comfort and noise cancellation. They look great with a shiny metal Finnish and a chain-like cord. The entire presentation and Finnish of the product is perfect. They come in several awesome colours. All in all I would give this full marks in terms of it’s quality and price. A highly recommended upgrade from your ‘bog standard’ ear buds.
