Make Image Searches Easier with Pandora
Are you tired of spending extra time looking through countless pages of images looking for a particular one that satisfies you? Are you looking for an image search engine application that combines simplicity with creativity? If so, then you will easily fall in love with Pandora. No, this is not Pandora Radio, but it’s safe to say that Pandora Radio is to music as Pandora is to image searching. This app makes image searches effortlessly all with the click of your mouse.
There are several features in Pandora that made the application quite appealling to me. One is the sleek and slim search bar. Powered by Google Images, the search engine in Pandora will quickly and accurately search for any and all images relevant to your desired search. Also, when you search for images, Pandora will conduct a continuous search while you look at other pictures.
There is never a delay in loading pictures; a neverending chain of results appear before your very eyes. It’s important to note, as well, that Pandora uses other image search engines, including Yahoo/AltaVista and Flickr.
The browsing options in Pandora are just appealing. With Pandora, you can conduct multiple searches and divide your searches with tabs. You can also view the website of the picture you searched for by clicking the “Web Page” button. You can even view all of your search results in a slideshow. Imagine, it’s like a web browser and iPhoto combined into one.
Perhaps my favorite feature of Pandora is the “Finder” feature. Suppose you conduct an image search on the Internet. The results you get are only viewable via a web browser; the photos you search for aren’t actually found on your computer unless you manually save it to the hard drive. This isn’t the case with Pandora. The minute you begin the search, a folder appears on your screen with the name of the search term. Furthermore, as more image results come in, more photos load into that folder. Clearly, the advantage of having this is to keep track of the photos you’ve searched for, in case you ever want to view them at a later date. Unfortunately, I believe that this could just add unneccessary space to your hard drive. Nevertheless, this feature of Pandora essentially leaves an electronic papertrail for you to see all these images you found as a result of a search term.

Pandora has so many other features, including the ability to search for videos, music, and documents in addition to photos. This is the type of program worth trying out. Pandora is free to try, but your usage is limited. You can purchase a registration code for a single user for $29.95 or a multi-user registration code for $39.95 via PayPal or Kagi. Now go on…make image searches much more fun with Pandora.
