Clutter Free your Desktop with Sticky Windows
If you are like me, you know what a messy desktop looks like. I used to think this only happened to me, but as I met more Mac users I realized we all have the same problem. Everyone leaves thousands of windows on their desktop and that can be a hassle some times. Now everything is fixed thanks to an application called sticky windows.
Sticky Windows makes it easy to organize your desktop. What it does is it creates tabs out of your windows. Sort of like minimizing the window only this method works faster and better. To create a tab out of your window you simply have to grab the window and drag it to the side of the screen as soon as the window goes to the side it will become a tab and you can leave it there and come back to it whenever you want. Sticky Windows is not a regular application as it sets it self up as part of your system preferences rather than having it in your dock therefore, it makes it harder to get to if you want to change the settings.
Sticky windows doesn’t give you a lot of options only very basic ones. you can change it from automatic to manual. In automatic the windows that you are not using will automatically become tabs, and in the manual option you have to manually set the tabs up your self. You are also given the option to change the color of the tabs to basically any color you wish. You can also choose which sides to activate (left, right, top, and bottom.).
Overall Sticky Windows is a great application. It clears all the clutter of your desktop and makes it look neat. I recommend every mac user who is unorganized to try it out. Even though the full version of Sticky Windows will run you for $19.95 you can try it for free from the developers website.

I LOVE this app! I’ve been using it for a couple years, and I just can’t live without it. Makes it easy to throw a window out of the way quickly. Minimizing windows just doesn’t cut it because that piles up in the dock.
This is one of the few apps that I have ever paid full price for.

This application is amazing, definitely think it is making Mac more like windows in the sense that the stuck windows look just like the applications in the windows task bar. But that’s all great because it makes it a lot more organized.

This doesn’t seem to work on snow leopard. It says i need to authorize it so i click on the button but then it won’t do anything. Any ideas?
I installed Sticky Windows but when I “activated” it, a box appeared asking that I enter my password to “authorize” Sticky window. The program gives me no place to do that authorization or any indication where I might add my password.
