Twitterfon Pro: Twitter To Go

Do you have an iPhone or iPod Touch? Are you obsessed with Twitter? Do you have $5 laying around? If you answered yes to all of those questions, then Twitterfon Pro is for you! Twitterfon Pro is a relatively new Twitter client for the iPhone and iPod Touch and it is still one of the best.

Some of the best things about Twitterfon are that Kazuho Okui, the application’s developer, did a phenomenal job coming up with features that are unique to the application and are very useful. Some of these features include Cached Tweets for faster loading, auto reload, and badges to show the amount of unread Tweets Mentions or @replys and Direct Messages to name a few. Twitterfon Pro also has multiple account support, an option to use a landscape keyboard, and has instapaper integration. One of my favorite features that they don’t show on their page in the App Store, is the ability to go into landscape browser mode. Most built-in browsers for twitter apps only have the ability to view in portrait. Twitterfon also highlight Tweets in different colors for unread tweets and Mentions or @replys.

Colored mentions

Twitterfon Pro has five sections on the button for your Timeline, Mentions, Direct Messages, Favorites, and Search which also allows you to see treding topics. You are able to favorite and unfavorite tweets, send quick mentions by simply tapping on the users picture in the timeline, and also retweet messages with  only a few touches.

A few things I wish Twitterfon Pro will add are in line TwitPic and yFrog integration and the ability to post tweets with Twitlonger. These are key features that I expect out of all paid or Pro Twitter apps. Twitterfon costs $4.99 in the App Store and has a free version that has ads and doesn’t include all of the features above. It has a rating of 4 1/2 in the App Store and I agree with the other customers. Twitterfon is a terrific app but it lacks in some key features which will hopefully be added later.

Nice post! I’ve used the TwitterFon version a while back and I liked how simple and organize it was. I then didn’t like the fact that it doesn’t have themes and the application couldn’t keep up with my followers and the people who were following me. However, support for multiple accounts and a lanscape keyboard sound great. Personally, I prefer the Twitteriffic App.
