Livespeakr: The portable iPhone Speaker

livespeakr Preview imageI often find myself bringing my iPhone to meet-ups with friends and family. But what is a celebration, an event, or a meet-up without music? I think to myself just how much nicer it is to have music in the background while talking to your friends and family. It adds fun and excitement to your get-together. With the Livespeakr portable speaker, you can play music through this perfect portable speaker for your events.

The Livespeakr is a portable speaker specially designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch; considering that it uses a 3.5 mm jack to conect to your device, it can be used with any MP3 player. The Livespeakr has a speaker on the left and right and your iPhone or iPod Touch is firmly connected in the center. What was really clever about this product was that its design enabled the iPhone 3G, 1st Gen iPhone/iPod Touch and Classic iPod to all fit in the cradle. But they managed to do this by not having a covering on top and by having a springy bottom under the cradle.  This would keep any device that you put in it tight and safe. They call it the “Super” cradle. Livespeakr in Portrait modeBut it is not just called the super cradle because it can fit a number of devices but also due to the fact that it can rotate left or right. When you turn it left the speakers on the Livespeakr will expand. Then if you move it back to the middle position the speakers will move with it. And finally, you move it to the right to make it portable and easier to carry.

The Livespeakr also has a built in re-chargeable Lithium Ion battery which has the great option of having a switch. In other words, you are more likely to get more out of the battery if you use it as a source of power. The battery is charged by a USB connection to your computer, but the Livespeakr includes a USB to a power outlet connection, just in case you are not in reach of a computer. The Livespeakr also has a stand. But this stand also comes to use when it’s not even been set in place. The stand has rubber flat feet and can be elevated to three levels by just sliding it out and placing it correctly.

Livespeakr has The 3-Click System, which consists of;

  • Click 1: Simply clip the media player into the Livespeakr and the speakers are hidden behind the unit for maximum portability.
  • Click 2: Give the unit a gentle rotation and the Livespeakr rotates 90 degrees to rest in the vertical or portrait position. The user will receive tactile feedback by feeling and hearing a click.
  • Click 3: Another twist will turn the unit another 90 degrees, the speakers will expand and the unit will emit another clicking noise indicating the Livespeakr is now locked in the landscape mode. Simply reverse these clicks to put the Livespeakr back into storage.

I thought I would include that 3-Click system which Livespeakr came up with, just to give you a better understanding of the simplicity of this speaker. So if you are someone that likes to have their music shared while on-the-go, you can pick up a Livespeakr online for $85.00 today. The Livespeakr comes in white and black and I personally think white looks nicer, but I guess that’s just a Mac user thing!
