Booq: The Simple and Professional-Looking Macbook Sleeve

Attention all business people: stop futzing around with leather carrying cases that make your Macbook unattractive. If you’re looking for a sleeve that protects your laptop from scratches and looks professional, then you need the Booq Taipan Skin sleeve. Its design is simple but very presentable and appropriate for a business setting. Furthermore, its firm neoprene texture ensures maximum protection for your Macbook.
The Booq Taipan Skin sleeve is like any other neoprene sleeve in that there are zippers that open and close so that you can insert or take out your Macbook. Furthermore, the sleeve has the same smooth exterior and fuzzy interior that you see in Incase sleeves. Although looks are similar, the Booq Taipan Skin varies drastically from Incase neoprene sleeves in two ways. First, when touching the Booq sleeve, you’ll notice that it is significantly firmer than an Incase sleeve. In fact,
when you put your Macbook inside the Booq sleeve, you’ll notice and feel how tough the sleeve is. Booq’s website describes the firmness of the sleeve very accurately, saying that the Taipan Skin is made to “fit your laptop like snake skin.”
Furthermore, this sleeve contains three long, rubber ridges sewn on both slides of the sleeve. I believe that having these rubber “guards” ensures security for your Macbook. Additionally, it could help prevent the neoprene from wearing out if you slide the sleeve across a surface. Stylistically speaking, these rubber guards make add pizzaz to the sleeve, preventing it from being labeled as the generic Macbook neoprene sleeve.
My overall thoughts on this product are positive. Quite frankly, this doesn’t differ from a regular neoprene Macbook sleeve in looks and function. However, I was really pleased to see how firm the material is. Since being in college, my Incase Macbook sleeve has been through the ringer; lugging it across campus wears out its quality. Yet, with the Booq Taipan Skin sleeve, I think that my Macbook can withstand the pressure and the constant movement in my bag better than ever. This may also be the case for professional businessmen. Whether you travel to a different town or a different country, the Booq sleeve appears to be the most appropriate and fashionable sleeve to use for your Macbook.

Booq sells the Taipan Skin sleeve for the Macbook for $29.95. However, they have many more sleeves as well as backpacks and bags designed to protect your Macbook. Overall, if you are looking for a professional yet simple sleeve for your Macbook, Booq is the way to go.

Awesome Review!!
Great sleeve I must say and it seems to be doing a good job. Good post as always Tony!
If I ever get a Macbook I may consider getting this. It is very simple yet attractive and effective! Good post.
Great review. What is the functionality of the three lines?
The rails are there for added protection BUT I also see this as a way to keep your laptop cool if you use the sleeve underneath laptop to keep your lap from getting too hot. The rails provide some airfow underneath — especially on MacBook Pros… They’re know to get warm on occasion.
Nobody mentions one main reason to consider this sleeve: Unzipped, it folds flat and offers protection when the computer is placed in an airport security checkpoint bin. This is an important and rare design convenience among hundreds of available sleeves!
