Capture, Edit and Share with LittleSnapper

LittleSnapper from Realmac Software is a screenshot and website capturing application for Mac OS X. It allows you to capture screenshots and webpages, edit them, and upload them to one of the many supported photo sharing sites. It makes annotating screenshots super easy and has a beautiful intuitive user interface, that makes easy to understand.
LittleSnapper has two elements, the application itself and a small menu bar item. The Menu Bar item allows you to take a screenshot of either an Area, Window, or Full Screen (Similar to Apple’s own Grab App), but instead of saving it on the desktop, it imports it directly into LittleSnapper, ready for editing.
Upon opening LittleSnapper, you’ll be taken directly into your library, where all you screenshots and webpages are stored. On the right, you’ll see the info pane, which when a screenshot is selected, displays information including the Type, Date, Tags, a Description, and the places where it is published online.

On the left, you have your library and collection lists. You can add collections, smart collections and folders to this list, allowing you to keep your screenshots organized. LittleSnapper has three viewing options, one allows you to view all your screenshots, one for editing, and one for capturing websites – which is one of my personal favorites.
LittleSnapper has some really rock solid editing tools, which are not too basic, but not too difficult to use and understand. It is really simple to add some text, and overlay pointers and shapes onto any image.
One of my favorite features is the LittleSnapper Browser; it’s basically a full featured web browser, and allows you to capture parts, or the full webpage and add it to your library.
And, when you’re ready to share your screen captures with the world, LittleSnapper has got you covered, you can publish to your FTP or STFP server, Realmac’s own QucikSnapper website, or the highly popular photo sharing site, Flickr. It would be nice to have a few more options, for example your MobileMe iDisk or a WebDAV account.
All in all, LittleSnapper is a fantastic application to take, annotate and share screenshots of your desktop and websites, all in a beautiful interface that’s easy to use. LittleSnapper sells for $39 and you will continue to receive updates until version 2.0. A 5 Pack Family Edition is also available for $129, and can be purchased from the Realmac Software Store.

It seems a bit pricey for an app, but for all that it does, it lives up to its worth. Great review!

My words exactly. Why should i go and pay $39, when i can get a better application, with better features at the same price? My word? Voila!

I got LS as part of the MacHeist. It does things pretty decently, however when I want to capture freehand or for advanced annotations, I switch to Voila. I have tried both and got Voila from MacUpdate. I saw the GlobalDelight tweet, they are running some 55% discount on macZOT today.
